Groaning softly, Rosalie covered her face with her hands to block the hint of sunlight that was flickering through the clouds. The wind blew her hair around wildly as the world awoke before her. Rose had slid out onto the front porch around two in the morning to get some air. Lately, she’d taken to being alone. Today was no different, so she’d spent five hours relaxing on the porch swing.
Despite the weather, it seemed like a typical Saturday in Forks. Not much to do or see. At least it’s not raining...yet. Rose wondered what her family planned on doing today. She thought about going inside the house, but then she decided that she didn’t feel like talking to them either. Breathing a dramatic sigh, Rosalie stood up gracefully and took off into the forest.
A minute or so later, Rosalie found herself outside of Bella Swan’s house. What am I doing? She hadn’t been planning on coming here. Now she was knocking on the door, wearing baggy sweatpants and a loose T-shirt. She considered turning around and taking off, but what was the point? Rose bit her lip and a worried expression crossed her face as she waited for someone to answer the door. Realizing how early it was, she started to work on an excuse in case Charlie was home.

Yawning and stretching her arms out to either side of her, Bella scowled slightly at the front door. Who the hell would be knocking at this time in the morning? And on a Saturday at that?! No, she wasn't a morning person and no, Bella didn't bother to look at her reflection before walking down the steps. She was positive her hair held the appearence of a haystack and her stained, over-sized white 'FLORIDA' t-shirt looked absolutely lovely with her light grey and pink polka-dotted pajama pants, yet she pressed forward.
Squinting slightly, Bella swung the door open and stared grumpily at the person who was standing there. Rosalie. Looking stunning even in her baggy workout clothes. If the cold morning air hadn't woken Bella up fully, she was now at this picture of perfection. The only other person in the entire planet who the human would have been more shocked to see would be Jake.
Immediately, Bella became selfconscious and looked down at what she wore. Oh, as if she wasn't intimidated enough by Rosalie... "...Er..." she looked back at the creature infront of her, "...Hi Rosalie, wha-?"

Describing the present situation as awkward would be an understatement. Rosalie rocked back on her heels as Bella opened the door. She looked down at her feet, realizing for the first time that she wasn't wearing any shoes. A huge part of her mind was still trying to figure out why she'd decided to come here, of all places. She could just picture Edward going off when he heard about this.
Looking up, she ran her fingers through her hair and forced a small smile on her lips. It was hard, but she thought it looked convincing. "Hi Bella." Rosalie spoke in a soft voice, unsure if the human girl could hear her or not. "I'm sorry, I know it's awfully early." She fought with herself, keeping her tone as sweet as possible. "I just went for a quick run, and I guess I thought about you and.." Rosalie pressed her lips together, realizing she was convincing herself more than explaining why she was standing on Bella's doorstep. "Can I come in?" she asked, in an even softer voice.

It took a moment for Bella to register what was happening. She and Rosalie had only ever really had one conversation, just the two of them, so seeing her on her front doorstep threw Bella for a second. "Uh," Bella glanced over her shoulder and noticed that her father's work gear wasn't hung in it's usual spot. He must have been called in early or something. "Yeah, come in..." she took a couple steps backward, holding the door open a bit wider for the Vampire to enter.
This was the first occasion that Rosalie would have been in the house. Ofcourse it would be the only time when there was dirty dishes in the sink, a newspaper thrown across the kitchen table and muddy boots laying on the floor. What a luxurious life Bella was leading, Rosalie would be so impressed. Bella grimmaced slightly at the mess and decided that the Living Room might be a bit nicer.
"Just take a seat in the T.V room," Bella's voice was groggy with sleep as she closed the front door behind the statuesque figure.

"Thank you" she said politely as she stepped inside. Rosalie looked around, the smile on her lips slightly more genuine. Everything about this house was so human. Rosalie thought about how different it was from the place that the Cullens called home. Their house looked like it could be the set of a photoshoot or something. It was just another one of the many things that highlighted the differences between two worlds.
Rosalie nodded once and flounced off to the living room. She took a seat on the couch, continuing to look around. In some ways Bella's house reminded her of her own. Sure, it was a lot more modern. In other ways it was completely different. Rosalie couldn't remember that many of the positive things from her human life; and most of the things she could remember were slipping away through her fingers. One thing that did stick out in her mind was how her parents never seemed to be fully content with what they had.
Here it was different. The Swan house had an air of family, and air of love about it. A sad expression crossed Rosalie's face as she thought about this. I can't believe that Bella is so willing to give all this up. Rose nervously twisted her hair around her fingers, still deep in thought. She'd tried to convince Bella once before and failed. As much as she wanted to, she wasn't about to try again. At least not directly. "Like I said, I'm sorry it's so early. I just..." she paused to organize the swarm of thoughts crashing around inside her head. "Well, I feel like I should apologize." There was so much more she wanted to say. Rosalie stopped herself, waiting for Bella's reaction.

Again, Bella was taken aback by what Rosalie was saying. Resisting the urge to pinch herself to see if this was all just a dream, Bella dragged herself into the living room. She tripped slightly over the carpet, but made it to the lay-z-boi type chair just beside the sofa realtively unscathed.
To be honest, Bella didn't mind much the time, she could always return to bed later if she felt the need. Especially if it was Rosalie of all people that needed to talk to her, Bella was more than willing to sacrifice. "Appologize?" she repeated with a questioning look, "why would you need to appologize about anything?"

Rosalie was so lost in her own thoughts that she barely noticed it when Bella tripped. She smiled to herself, thinking about how if Edward had been there he would have done something to see if she was ok. This was part of the reason Rosalie envied Bella Swan. She'd been lucky enough to find someone who loved her. Truly loved her for what she was. Yes, she was incredibly lucky.
Averting her eyes, Rosalie began to wonder again exactly why she'd came here. "Well, you already know this. But I haven't been fair to you. Not in the least." Internally, she winced. Rosalie thought that talking would help her feel better. So why did it seem like every word she said brought on a fresh wave of confusion?
Rosalie thought about her sister Alice and how close she'd been able to grow to Bella. Even Esme was starting to become friends with the girl, in a way. It was weird, but a big part of her wanted to be friends with Bella too. Rosalie was so used to people wanting her, and Bella didn't seem to feel that way. "I've just been thinking about so much lately. And you're going to officially be a part of the family soon and..." Rosalie folded her hands in her lap. "I think you know this, but I'm jealous of you Bella. And try as I might, it's just so hard to get past that." She traced her fingers along the edge of the couch. "That's the problem though. I really, really want to."

Bella listened carefully to what Rosalie had to say, desperately holding back the sarcastic laugh when she stated her jealousy of Bella. Yes, the human did know of that little detail, and it still blew her mind. To think, someone as completely flawless as Rosalie being envious of Bella. It really was rediculous, even if she had a logical reason behind it.
What was there to respond? Simply nodding, Bella couldn't think of something appropriate to say. "Well," she began, hoping her words would take her somewhere, "... I know jealousy is a very ugly emotion. So, I can kind of understand why you want to overcome it, is there anyway I could help you... try?" Bella's suggestion was the best offer she could come up with.

At that moment, Rosalie wished the floor would open up and swallow her. I should give her more credit. It seemed as though Bella was so willing to help everyone else. That blew Rosalie's mind, since her main concern was usually herself. Still, she had a bit too much pride to admit everything she was thinking.
"You're not...angry with me?" she asked in a tone that was practically inaudible. Looking at Bella's face, Rose could tell that she was feeling something. She just really wished she knew what. She nodded, agreeing with Bella's statement. Jealousy was a very ugly emotion. Something not fit for a creature as beautiful as Rosalie. Yet is was almost impossible not to feel it.
Rosalie sighed, attempting to organize her thoughts for what seemed like the millionth time. Bella's last words caught her off guard. She froze for a second before standing up and walking over to the chair Bella was sitting in, gracefully perching herself on one of the arms. A small smile crossed her lips before she quickly pecked Bella on the cheek. Even she was surprised by the sudden rush of affection. Still, she had to start somewhere. "Thank you Bella. You could talk to me, maybe?" Rosalie wanted to understand Bella Swan better. "And most importantly, you can forgive me? I know it's a lot to ask but..."

Needless to say but, Bella was stunned by what had just occurred. It was far to early for something of this magnitude, and that same exact feeling of disbelief she felt numerous times this morning washed over the human once again. This had to be some kind of dream! Her subconscious had been playing awful mind-games with her lately, so Bella really wouldn't have been surprised to wake up and perhaps have a good laugh about all of this.
There really was no way that Rosalie would be appologizing to her, was there? Had Edward set this up? Bella let a small laugh escape her lips, thoroughly convinced that this was some cruel joke set up to humiliate her. Deciding to play along, she looked down and began to play with the fabric of her pj pants. "Uhm, yeah... I mean, ofcourse I'll be able to forgive you," Bella spoke softly, saying exactly what she would say if this were really happening. To be honest, Bella thought that Rosalie didn't need to be appologizing for anything... really. And there was no way that she would NOT accept Rosalie's sudden change of heart. They were, after all, going to be family soon.
Talking with Rosalie... this was going to be interesting indeed... Did the pair even have anything in common? How were they even going to start a conversation? Bella grimmaced internally, wondering whether she was going to accidentally screw this up or not.

Sharp, musical laughter escaped from Rosalie before she could stop herself. God, what was this? The Apocalypse? Her emotions were so strange lately, and the weirdest part of all was that she felt like she had no control over them. It was actually a bit scary. "Sorry," she murmured mostly to herself.
Rosalie thought it was interesting how one human girl had the power to bring out so much in people. She could remember the reactions of everyone when Bella first came to Forks. If someone were to tell Rosalie that this plain human girl would fall in love with her brother, or basically be the cause of a heck of a lot of trouble, she would have laughed in their face. It was such a barbaric concept. After all, Vampires and Humans didn't mix, right? Whoever thought of that was clearly wrong.
"Bella," she began gently as she turned to look at her. Rose had so much that she wanted to talk about, but she was having trouble putting it into words. "Is there anything that you need to let out?" she asked sweetly. Rosalie thought that Bella might need someone to talk to about the wedding and all.

Bella looked at Rosalie for a moment before her eyebrows creased. Anything that she needed to let out? To Rosalie? Clearing her throat slightly, Bella shifted her weight a bit uncomfortably in the chair. This was all getting a wee bit too bizarre for Bella's taste(and that really was saying something). 'It'd be nice if you decided to wake up now...'
Raising her left hand, she reached over to her right arm and grasped the sensitive skin on the underside of her forearm. Pinching slightly, Bella's face contorted into discomfort for a fraction of a second before she dropped both of her hands into her lap. She turned to see if Rosalie was still inside the house, and sure enough... So this was really happening.
"Uhm," Bella said under her breath, "well, honestly, I don't have much to say... about anything." The dream that the human had had the night before suddenly popped into her head and she bit the corner of her lip. She should probably talk to Rosalie about that. The beautiful Vampire might appreciate it... infact, she probably expected it.
"Oh, but I was wondering if maybe... would you maybe be one of my Brides Maids? I know it would mean a lot to Edward and I..." Bella's words trailed off slightly. Her voice seemed to be very non-chelant about the whole subject, as if simply inviting Rosalie to a barbeque or something along those lines.

Wide-eyed, Rosalie shifted slightly to look at Bella. It was all she could do to keep her mouth from falling into a small 'O'. For once she was almost at lost for words. "Yes, thank you. I'd love to." A tiny smile danced across her face. Rose hadn't been involved in that many weddings, so she thought it'd be almost fun. A small part of her was worried if it'd be hard for her. I can take care of that later, she reassured herself.
After she'd overcome the feeling of surprise she was able to think about the human girl's previous words. She had a hard time believing that Bella didn't have anything she wanted to talk about. Even though she didn't want to force it out of her, she still wanted to let her know that it was okay to talk. "Forgive me, but I have a hard time believing that there's absolutely nothing bothering you." Rosalie was careful to keep her tone gentle. "I also know how Alice and Edward can be." Light, musical laughter escaped her lips. "So I just want you to know that if you do want to talk about something, now is as good a time as ever." She paused to let the offer sink in. "But if you don't, then I understand."

Bella nodded slowly and dropped her gaze to the floor just infront of the chair. Everyone knew how she felt about getting married at such a young age, it wasn't really on her list of top 10 things to do right out of high school. She sighed heavily at the thought, but it was for a good cause, right? And it was her choice after all...
It was the only way she'd be able to get turned into a Vampire. Stupid alternatives. Why did everything have to be pick and choose? Get married right away and become a Vampire, or wait a few years, get married and become a vampire. No, the second choice didn't sound too bad but the fact was the longer Bella waited to become a Vampire, the older she would get. But Edward only looked 17! In the blink of an eye, Bella would be 75 and Edward would be... 17.
The thought made Bella cringe. "I don't really want to get married," the human stated bluntly, "and it's almost all I've been thinking about lately. Alice is so excited for it, she just wont let me forget. That's all she wants to talk about! Decorations, guests, venues, dresses... it's all for a wedding that I don't even want. But... I do want it..."
It was odd how all of that just poured out of her mouth, like word vomit. Once it started, it just wouldn't stop... and to ROSALIE of all people!

"Yes, Alice has always been the effervescent one." In a way Rosalie pitied Bella. She really was such a sweet girl, and she obviously didn't want to hurt anyones' feelings. Rosalie thought it was an admirable trait. "But you know Alice loves you Bella. I can talk to her, if you'd like?"
Rosalie thought about how her world was so different from Bella's. She'd only been a year older when she was engaged. She shuddered, pushing the painful memory away. Sometimes Rose wondered how her life would have been if she hadn't taken her father's lunch to the bank that day. Would she still have met Royce? A small part of her thought so, but at the same time she couldn't help but to imagine what her life would have been like if she hadn't. "It's strange, really. Every decision you make affects the actions you'll take later on," she whispered.
Feeling slightly embarrassed, Rosalie turned her attention back to Bella. She wondered if the human had noticed her change in moods. "What is it about the wedding that you don't want, exactly?" Rosalie wondered aloud. "Would you rather become one of us first? Because that'll make it so much harder."
